Thomas Garner

Thomas is a registered professional engineer, studied mechanical engineering at the University of Pretoria and holds an MBA from the University of Stellenbosch Business School. He has over 30 years of experience in executive management, engineering, project management, operations, maintenance and business development within the Mining and Energy Sector of South Africa. He offers extensive expertise in business creation and management of high quality growth opportunities in the Coal, Renewable Energy and Engineering fields.

He was founding CEO of Cennergi, a South African based IPP that, at the time, was a 50/50 joint venture between Exxaro Resources and Tata Power. Cennergi developed, constructed, commissioned, and now operates, two large wind farms totaling 229 MW of installed capacity in the Eastern Cape. Thomas is also the Founding Chairman of the South African Independent Power Producers’ Association and is a Fellow of the South African Academy of Engineering.
